The Initiative
The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)
Driven by a coalition of local organizations and a planning process that starts right here at home, the CEDS is designed to build economic prosperity and resiliency across the Toledo Region.
Our Vision by 2025
“The Toledo region will be shaped by its people making an impact in their communities and will be home to a resilient, innovative economy that attracts and values diverse ideas, talent, lifestyles, and careers by utilizing our natural, cultural, human, and infrastructure strengths.”
Goals
Increase the resiliency of the Toledo Region by building a diversified economy and cultivating additional employment opportunities.
Continue to build the physical, financial, and regulatory infrastructure to connect the region to the world.
Cultivate, attract, retain, and train a diverse workforce for the immediate, future, and evolving needs of employers.
Promote and continue to enhance the region’s high quality of life and place.
Through Toledo’s ups and downs as a region, from early prosperity as a manufacturing hub to more recent job and population loss followed by subsequent growth, one thing remains clear: resilience is key—and the Toledo Region is resilient.
